Outreach Talks

In the past three years, I have delivered nearly 30 talks to groups of all ages on the topic of astronomy. If you are interested in having an astronomer come talk to your class, please feel free to email me and we can arrange a visit. I am also a registered volunteer with the CanYES program, bringing astronomers to have informal chats with students in grades 4-12. I'm happy to give talks on the following subjects:
  • Star Formation: How to Bake a Star
  • The Life Cycle of Stars
  • Astrobiology: From Warm Little Ponds to Life on Earth
  • Why Pluto is No Longer a Planet

Poetry and Astronomy

I have always loved writing, and in the past few years I have had the opportunity to meet and write poetry amongst people from all over the world. I like to think I am an amateur poet and a professional astronomer, and I have spent much time learning how to combine these two beautiful pieces of my world. I am still learning, but hope to someday publish a collection of these space poems.
